It records at 1920x1080 through a 2-megapixel CMOS sensor and works with CMS/VMS desktop software, so footage stays on your own system.

The camera is rated for indoor and outdoor use, holds up between -20 and 60 degrees Celsius, and needs 0.1 lux to produce an image, so a porch light or street lamp is enough for a usable picture at night. Automatic backlight compensation keeps subjects from turning into silhouettes when they stand in front of a bright window or open doorway. Effective range is 30 m.
